What Is Plasma Pen?
Plasma Pen is the newest innovation for skin rejuvenation used to repair, revive, and smooth wrinkles as well as treat loose or saggy skin in a natural way. Researchers are also starting to discover the curing powers of plasma to heal wounds, destroy cancer cells and kill harmful bacteria.
Are Plasma Pens Safe?
The Plasma Pen is an FDA approved device. There are possible side effects such as minor change in skin pigmentation, inflammation, and rarely scarring. This treatment is only available for Fitzpatrick Skin Types 1-3, and is not safe for darker skin. Contraindications include: autoimmune disorders, severe skin conditions, Accutane(within a year), lupus, vitiligo, psoriasis, cataracts, keloid scars, being treated with blood-thinning medications or gold therapy(within a year), chemo or radiation(in last 3 years), breast feeding, or pregnant.
How Does Plasma Pen Work?
Our DNA uses plasma energy or electric charge to facilitate processes within cells to maintain balance. The plasma flows through a handheld, pen-sized instrument and exits as a high speed jet which looks like a mini lightning bolt. The jet mixes with air and produces a new therapeutic molecule which is able to shrink the targeted skin and stimulate natural healing processes in the body.
How Long Do Plasma Pen Results Last?
The effects last as long as they would with invasive surgery. As with any modality, individuals results vary. The positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but because the plasma pen stimulates collagen for weeks following treatment, the results will be seen after 4 weeks and final result will take 8-12 weeks post each treatment.
Are Plasma Pens Painful?
A numbing cream is used to create a comfortable treatment experience. Most areas of the body treated will not be painful, however, everyone's pain level is different and some areas of the body are more sensitive than others.

How Long Does The Redness Last After Treatment?
1-2 days after the treatment, swelling may occur and dry spots (eschar) in tiny dots appear. After 5-7 days, the eschar sloughs off and the skin appears smooth and soft. Slight redness is no longer visible after 3 weeks.
